Polar Regions

This Spring term we are learning about the Geography of the polar regions, the Arctic and Antarctic.

So far we have found out about the similarities and differences of both areas. We presumed both areas were very similar particularly with the climate, animals and plants there, however they are both quite different.

Did you know the Antarctic has no permanant residents compared to the four million who permanantly live in the Arctic?

We have also learnt facts about animals which habitat there, such as penguins.

Over the next few weeks we will also be comparing the polar regions to the UK and continuing to learn more about how Shackleton travelled around the Antarctic continent and the distance it was.
