We are Scientists! In our first half term, we are inspired by the story 'Man on the Moon' by Simon Bartram. We will be practising our own skills as Scientists by observing different objects, activities and tests, and trying hard to think of ways to record what we have noticed. These are important skills which we will use in each topic this year.
This topic will include:
- Asking simple questions and recognising that they can be answered in different ways
- Observing closely, using simple equipment
- Performing simple tests
- Identifying and classifying
- Using their observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions
- Gathering and recording data to help in answering questions.
Making Toast
We started off our Science topic, but investigating what happens to bread when we toast it. We had lots of fun predicting what we thought would happen, before putting these to the test. Our classroom certainly smelt tasty by the end!
