Science
Our science curriculum fosters a healthy curiosity in children and promotes respect for the living and non-living things in our world. The key knowledge and programmes of study taught by each year group are informed by the National Curriculum and builds towards the NC ‘end points’ and expectations. Although some topics are taught again within different year groups, objectives are planned and mapped to ensure progression throughout the school.
We aim to design a science curriculum in which children can acquire key scientific knowledge through practical experiences; by using equipment, conducting experiments and explaining concepts confidently as well as providing opportunities for cross-curricular learning. At St Patrick’s, we promote a love of science; this is evident through our varied and engaging curriculum.
